You have been subscribed to a public bug:
yesterday after an upgrade I can no more use the logout actions. The 6-way menu
does no more appear and everything is locked.
To unlock it I switched to the VT and did
killall nautilus
killall gnome-panel
then switched back to X and the 6-way menu appeared.
