I am also experiencing something similar.  If I boot my laptop with my
usb stick already inserted, then I sometimes end up with two "usbdisk"
icons on my desktop.  I can eject one of them but not the other one.  If
I wait until after it has booted, then things behave properly.  I'm
running feisty with all patches applied (up to last night).  My
/etc/fstab contains:

/dev/sdb1   /media/usbdisk vfat
users,rw,nosuid,nodev,quiet,shortname=mixed,uid=1000,gid=1000,umask=02,iocharset=utf8,noauto
0 0

Here is the requested command output and an attached tarball with
