Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome

Normally, GNOME should support the entry of Unicode characters by
holding down the Ctrl and Shift keys and entering the character's
codepoint number. This worked under dapper. Under feisty, it no longer
works for me.

** Affects: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
