Here we go. This is the first release of gnome-menu-editor, an application meant to allow simple menu editing according the menu-spec; it is coded after a proposal that Seth once published in may or so. It requires gnome-menus with patches [1] and [2] applied.
What works: Very basic menu editing (yay), i.e. inclusion/exclusion of single menu items. It writes changes to the XDG_CONFIG_HOME and re-reads the whole menu tree on each change. What doesn't work: File change notifications. They're obviously broken in gnome-menus itself, since the panel doesn't update on changes Displaying menus that don't contain entries. gnome-menus doesn't provide them. Maybe there should be an extra getter. Changes of KMenuEdit override changes of gnome-menu-editor. This is lame, I know. At some stage we'll share a merge file with KDE and this won't be a problem. I just fear we might break anything so I hestitate to use a common file for now. Leaks. I still can't get memprof to run on my ppc and I don't get along with alleyoop. We're probably leaking. Have fun and don't forget to report bugs! Oh, you want a download location [3] and a screenshot [4] of course.
