The bug you are referring to is actually a bug in the firefox theme. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=261112
The bug actually seems to be fixed in the current trunk builds of Firefox. :-)
I actually made a theme GNOME-Fx-Simple ( See http://gnomefx.mozdev.org ) to get around this bug for the time being
