First off, since we know it exists, I'm sure we'd *really* like to see that usability data; it's hard to make any informed comment without knowing the facts :) As gnome-main-menu works today, though (which is sans beagle, on my machine), I'd have to say I don't really see any immediate benefit in its inclusion. From my POV, it just pops up a non-standard-looking thing that's neither a window nor a menu, giving you access to four more menus in turn (Places, Favourites, Recent, and System). It's not obvious that this offers any particular advantage over the existing three-menu system we have today; it's just categorised a bit differently. (We don't currently have Favourite Applications on the menus, of course[1], but I'm sure we could if we felt it necessary.) So, a tentative -1 from me, pending any further insights... Cheeri, Calum.
