Short description: ================== Libgda is a database abstraction layer which hides all the database backend specifics from the user, offering a simple interface to each supported database (MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite are fully functional while Oracle and MDB are useable and missing features) to run queries. Summary so far: =============== + initially proposed for a symbol-database plugin in anjuta + doubts about possibility to reach API/ABI stability for the 4.0 branch so early after its release + sqlite has been approved as an external dependency during this cycle, for evolution. In this case, usage of sqlite was favored over usage of libgda mainly for performance reasons.
