Do you prefer "to take control"? or "to compel"? It's what's happening with deja-dup. We like to provide a software for backups, but it should be only one good and blessed solution. When/if another program will try to emerge, it will be compelled to avoid deep integration, 'cause we already have a service for it. I'm sure our developers and designers are able to produce the best software, and I dislike when some downstream tends to replace GNOME stuff with external stuff[1] but I see differentiation and (sane) extensions as resources. BTW if we (you) really want to make an awesome OS, the way we (you) envision, maybe you should file a bug asking to remove the ability to change gnome-shell behavior and appearance through extensions feature :P [1] yes, UDS people, I'm speaking about your "replace Evolution with Thunderbird" idea _______________________________________________ desktop-devel-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list
