Malcom, there are two distincts parts to SweetTooth:
- A server part (repository sweettooth) which is intended to run on
http://extensions.gnome.org and requires a database but doesn't need any
packaging.
- And the plugin for gnome-shell  (repository sweettooth-plugin) which
provide integration between the shell and the server, this need packaging
but doesn't use a database.
