I already mentioned this issue on the original mail. And as I said for those cases users have workarounds. As the feature name says, this feature is about "information-efficient". The main use case of Dasher is writing long texts. This kind of alternative inputs were created because a traditional virtual keyboard (as current GNOME Shell built-in OSK) can be a pain for long texts. In the same sense, for small texts, like the usual three letters used to search something on the overview OSK are more suitable. So not sure if not working on the overview makes Dasher non-eligible for GNOME modulesets.
