You'll have to figure out how to work that with module owners on that one. But I assume the release team can help here. Yes, I understand that there was instances where people did know the changes organically with evidence. I think what distributors want is formulism despite whether knowledge is there or not. If we can release software every 6 months we should able to give formal requirements 6 months prior to the release. What are the expectations of GNOME for distributors? Read the portability matrix and if we have ExternalDependencies then we should do that. Anything else? As a marketing guy, I want to see a common experience on all distributions (branding aside). Let's not lose sight of the fact that we want to see our software on as many distributions as possible and it should be easy to integrate GNOME with any particular distro.
