On top of that, this whole rant stems from a fairly sizeable misunderstanding: JavaScript is not the "official language" of GNOME. The decision taken a couple of years ago at the developer experience hackfest was to consider JavaScript the preferred language when it comes to documentation and examples, when it comes to improving the DX of GNOME. Sadly, we haven't made much progress in that regard, but endorsing JavaScript does not imply ignoring all other languages - after all, software development is not a zero-sum game.
