While we on the way of working up a updated list of Contributor and Core Contributor, I noted that Eric Boutilier has also set up a core contributor list for reasons: - Discuss issues rightly for this group, e.g. Election of OGB - Election debate etc.
As I notice the grouping that OpenSolaris is really diverse ( and large number compare with GNOME), not every one are all doing the same thing all the time. Some likes development, some likes marketing or evangelizing, other likes organization... So I encourage all you 'shy' people who really like to be a part of the running of the Desktop communities within OpenSolaris to SHOUT out now: - To be a Core Contributor if you wan to involve and participate in the organization, execution and strengthening of the Desktop communities (Since you can only vote as a Core Contributor and who you vote can have a significant impact in the bigger picture of things). [1] - To be a Contributor if you just want to be recognized that you are regular contributing to the Desktop communities, *big or small*. (if you aren't sure whether you fit into this, see http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/OpenSolarisDesktopContributorsGuidelines) -Ghee [1] For you who have already shouted out to be Contributor, you should ask to be Core Contributor if you want to involve in this capacity. For existing Core Contributors if you don't want to involve in this capacity, you can also should out to be a Contributor! (Okay, please don't beat me up in the corridor, I said this in a good sense :) but serious sense).
