G?rard, as Doug Scott mentioned in the other email, you could have a look at the spec-files-extra repository. There are more then 600 build-recipes working within the pkgbuild/pkgtool framework. SO many build-problems are already solved and the recipes can't wait to be re-used by many more people.
If you really like to compile yourself, try out the repository and "Common Build Environment" described here: http://pkgbuild.sourceforge.net/spec-files-extra/ http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/jds/contributing/building/ If you write your own build-recipes your submitting them for review is always welcome. If you prefer more stable, pre-build binary packages, then you might go for the well-known repositories like blastwave, sunfreeware and so on. Thomas
