Solaris 10 (Server edition) wants things like zone, crossbow, Dtrace, SAN, NAS earlier. Solaris 10 (Client edition) focus on GNOME, looking glass, StarOffice 8, graphics driver, projector compatibility, notebook hibernation, earlier.
Right now, we who use Solaris 10 (not Nevada) as client has to wait a long time for things like GNOME 2.16, StarOffice8/OpenOffice2, notebook power management. So while they share many things in common, they do have distinct differences. However, I don't have a technical solution for this as creating 2 versions have its own set of problems. I'm quite happy with our focus on the server side for next 3 quarters as I think there are still tonnes of works there. Which is why we (a very small group based in Singapore) initiated Singanix. tx e1 www.singanix.org This message posted from opensolaris.org
