* The link on http://opensolaris.org/os/community/sw-porters/contributing/ to the Package Classifications is broken. * The "Contrib Repo Process" states that the "...source code used to build the package must be referenced by url or included, unless explicitly approved..." Can you be more specific? Does that mean the whole source code plus all used patches? Or does that also include build instructions/build recipes (e.g. a spec-file)? * Why not explicitly require all opensource software to be submitted with sources, e.g. reformulate the above as "...unless it is non-OSS and explicitly approved..."? * If the above means that build instructions/build recipes need to be included (unless approved otherwise), why not rebuild the packages on the trusted build server before inclusion in /contrib? I seriously doubt that any reviewer will rebuild it just to verify that the submitted package's contents correspond to the source. * Could packages submitted without source please be tagged or otherwise categorized so that they can easily be filtered out by users? -- Guido Berhoerster
