Is setting MANPATH only unnecessary on OpenSolaris, or have the same changes
been backported to Solaris 10?

Setting MANPATH should no longer be necessary thanks to the work done by
Mike Gerdts. Setting PATH alone should be sufficient as it will, if I
remember correctly, use $PATH to determine $MANPATH automatically.

The path issue is slowly becoming less of an issue as most software is
being used to /usr/bin to enable "serendipitous discovery". However, I
agree that something should still be done here until then.
