Hi there,

I've got an Acer Aspire AM5621-E5611A, with mostly Intel chipsets and I hoped
opensolaris would just work with it.
But apparantly it has issues with the Intel 82801 SATA RAID Controller and
refuses to even boot up the live CD.
The device detection tool tells me this:
Solaris Driver 32-bit: No Solaris Driver
Solaris Driver 64-bit: No Solaris Driver
Device Type: Storage
Vendr Name: Intel Corporation
Device Name: 82801 SATA RAID Controller

Vendor ID: 8086
Device ID: 2822
Class Code: 00010400
Sub VID: 1019
Sub DID: 2635
Revision ID: 02

Considering the closeness between Sun and Intel nowadays will opensolaris
support this controller in the near future?
Or is there any other way to circumvent this issue? Such as putting in a
different SATA card? If so any recommendations of brand/chipset?

Thanks,

Sean
