The express versions aren't intended for production according to Sun's website.

Also, reinstall is not the only way to update. You have liveupgrade,
flash archives, etc. You could manage the upgrades by using flash
archives for your developers and the appropriate deployment system
when new builds are released of Solaris Express.

There is no supported update system in place though for the Express
versions, and I suspect there may never be given that would mean Sun
would be giving away free support, bandwidth, etc. However, that could
change, but if it does, it won't be for a long time.
