Go get the Solaris 8 (yes, 8) contributed builds, they run fine on 
Solaris 9 as long as you have the requisite gtk1 packages installed.

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/contrib/solaris_pkgadd/

or .../solaris_tarball if you prefer.

Get the README file, you may also need a libm patch and whatnot.  Your 
Sun Beijing team produces these contributed builds (as well as those for 
OpenSolaris).

And note that this forum is for OpenSolaris, neither 9 nor 10, there are 
other forums appropriate for them, you will have better luck there for 
Solaris 9 & 10.
