I mean, we get the new toys, so we'd like to use them, right? I wrote a quick SMF manifest for OSS to that it starts with SMF instead via the abstraction that runs the rc scripts.
The manifest, needs to be installed with svccfg import oss.xml http://stuff.tomservo.cc/oss.xml The script needs to be put in /lib/svc/method and chmodded to 555. If you want to put the script elsewhere, you need to change the manifest before installing it. http://stuff.tomservo.cc/svc-oss Enable it with svcadm enable svc:/system/opensound Then remove the links K89oss and S89oss from /etc/rc3.d I'm hoping that the upcoming versions of Open Sound System will indeed use SMF on Solaris 10 and upwards. Alone because of just cause. -mg This message posted from opensolaris.org
