Hi Joanie, You might want to try to add "export GTK_MODULES=gail:atk-bridge" to /usr/bin/startlxde and create a new file "$HOME/.config/lxsession/LXDE/autostart" for all the apps/items you want to launch. Please refer to "/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart" on how to add those items. This will probably work from the lxsession source code.
Not sure how LXDE interacts with ~/.xsession or ~/.xinitrc though.
