Don't know of any plan to port Google Chrome/Safari on OpenSolaris from the team. People who are interested in the community might want to take the initiative and maybe create a project for the porting efforts.
BTW, both Google Chrome and Safari should depend on WebKit for rendering as I know. For those who are interested, WebKit will be integrated into OpenSolaris (depends on libstdcxx's integration currently). As for the performance, is there any data that could be shared?
