You can purchase and use the Fluendo WMA/WMV plugins from their web
store. They are reasonably priced, but they only work with GStreamer
based programs like totem and rhythmbox. So, there is a legal way
to play WindowsMedia formats on Solaris today.

It would be nice if Real sold their plugins to Solaris end users.
Then Solaris users could also use these formats in the Realplayer
application.

Or it might be good to enhance RealPlayer so it could make use of any
GStreamer plugins that are installed on the system, thus allowing you
to play WindowsMedia foramts via Real if the GStreamer plugins are
available.
