That is an absolute. Also the man page conventions require that directory name extension, man page file extension, and the section in the text are exactly the same. The man command also requires that the extension be in lower case, I believe. For useability purposes I'm suggesting that the name should be <number>gnu, rather than <number>g Dennis > directory : extension on page : filename > man1gnu : 1GNU : foo.1gnu > > -Sue > > Sue Weber, Program Manager-Solaris Documentation > Nevada, Express, Trusted and OpenSolaris > (650) 786-5467 x85467 > susan.weber at sun.com > > > Danek Duvall wrote: > >> On Tue, May 02, 2006 at 10:45:55AM -0700, Stephen Hahn wrote: >> >> >> >>> The case proposes /usr/share/man/man1gnu as the path, with "1G" as the >>> name of the section in the text. >>> >> >> >> Is that not a syntax error -- the "g" vs "gnu", not the case difference? >> >> Danek >> _______________________________________________ >> tools-discuss mailing list >> tools-discuss at opensolaris.org >> >> > -- Dennis A.
