Here's something else that's weird about audioplay:

An ultra5 running Solaris Express b51a will play the Nagios sounds, no
complaints.

jritorto at jritorto-solaris:~> audioplay
Software/gjallarhorn-nagios/nagios-2.3.1/html/media/critical.wav
jritorto at jritorto-solaris:~>

...but a pc running Solaris Express b51 and connected via Sun Ray will not:

jritorto at alabaster:~> audioplay
Software/gjallarhorn-nagios/nagios-2.3.1/html/media/critical.wav
audioplay: Software/gjallarhorn-nagios/nagios-2.3.1/html/media/critical.wav
encoding not available: mono 8.000000-bit (unknown encoding?) @ 11.025kHz
jritorto at alabaster:~>

As root on the pc, no problem:
# audioplay
~jritorto/Software/gjallarhorn-nagios/nagios-2.3.1/html/media/critical.wav
#

Yikes, having a gui would be a major dealbreaker for me. The embed has to just
play without interaction like it does on all other platforms. This is for
Nagios alerts on a keyboardless workstation used as a heads up display in a NOC.

Werd ^
