You mean this: ~ ?  That's called a tilde.  As for the delete key, I
assume you want it to do what the backspace key does (i.e., delete the
character to the left of the cursor)?  If so, just type:

        stty erase [press Del key here]

BTW, this sort of question should probably be asked on os-help.
