The xscreensaver FAQ talks about the xscreensaver configuration file,
$HOME/.xscreensaver. The xscreensaver manpage describes the format of
the configuration file so you can edit it by hand. I think question 13
("Some of these graphics demos suck. How do I edit out the ones I don't
like?") provides the answer you need.

I think causing your system to crash qualifies for "suck". Would be
good to file a bug at defect.opensolaris.org about this, so the freeze
issue gets looked into.
