Hi yippi, and thanks for your response, although I'm not sure if bug 10036 is the same as this one: Bug 10036 is about gstreamer/gnome getting confused about which audio output driver to use, while the problem in this thread is more to do with issues with jittery sound, independent of the output driver in use.
Bug 10036 may be related in some way though, and it certainly helps to narrow things down: using the tips there I have been able to eradicate the old Sun Audio driver, but unfortunately rhythmbox is still jittery. Next step for me is to try what you say and use a non-gstreamer app to play audio to see if that makes a difference. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
