well, this should say it all http://www.ccc.de/biometrie/fingerabdruck_kopieren try the link, its English text inside. while fingerprints are unsafe, they are also a big risk for the people that authenticate with it, since you could just cut of some ones finger. if you think thats abstract, fire up google and you will find cases for sure. every kind of biometric security system that does not require the person to be alive is to consider as thread for the person. believe me, if you make that clear to the people, they will be happy for a system that requires strong passwords etc. This message posted from opensolaris.org
