Not sure if this was ever solved, but I had a similar problem. Here is how I fixed it:
ran gstreamer-properties from the command-line. I set most of the inputs to auto-detect or automatic. Tested the sound. Profit. Hope this helps anyone with the same problems. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
