Thanks for you interest. After some update/upgrade to recent oneiric packages the issue is resolved. Crashes do not appear instantly any more.

These include metacity and ubuntu-one, even so they are not supposed to load at all. Before update from 11.04, I had openbox running well. Within it I called many gnome-* tools without problem and had a slim and speedy environment. Somehow gdm does not honor openbox properly and loads other conflicting window managers.
