Title:
  System Monitor window won't paint

Status in “gnome-system-monitor” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

I did a fresh install of Karmic. Now when I select the System Monitor
tool in the Administration menu, I get a window that won't paint
correctly and is just a bunch of vertical and horizontal lines
  instead.

Because of performance issues, I reduced the Appearance -> Visual
Effects to "None" so I assume that I'm running Metacity.

This bug was filed with ubuntu-bug but I'm not sure if it collected
driver information. If not, please let me know and I can provide any
additional information that's required. My video card is an old 32MB
ATI card and I'm not using any proprietary drivers.

I'm certain that this is not a problem exclusive to System Monitor. I
had a similar problem with Gnome Do. However, since the System Monitor
is part of the core system, is 100% repeatable, and I don't know where
I would otherwise file this bug, I chose to file against this package.
If the bug really needs to be filed under a different package, please
do so, this was just my best guess.

I'll be sure to attach a screenshot and my Xorg log file if I see that
  it's not attached with ubuntu-bug.

  Thanks!
