The logic behind it for twitter is as follows (not including replies or direct messages): The Home stream contains all tweets. The Images stream contains tweets with images attached to them The Links stream contains tweets with urls attached to them The Videos stream contains tweets with videos attached to them The Messages contains everything except images, links, videos
