I'm closing this bug because it won't be fixed in Ubuntu 11.04. In
Ubuntu 11.10, for those that still use gnome-panel, we currently are
trying to ship a "vanilla" gnome-panel that is in line with upstream
without the heavy patching we've done in the past.

Title:
Firefox link missing from top panel in "Classic desktop" mode
Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
In the new "Classic desktop" mode the Firefox link that is present in
Ubuntu 10.10 is gone.
As a workaround, this can be restored by going to the menu, then
Internet > Firefox web browser and drag & drop the menu entry to the
panel.
