Hi Yves, and thank you for your report. I have tried to reproduce this
issue using software-center 5.2 in most recent Precise, and the sorting
appears to be working fine for me. For the first case, Sort by Name, I
see Kopete listed before Licq (see screenshot). And the second case,
Sort by Rating, also seems fine. Please note that the result might seem
decieving because of how we weight the reviewed items. That is, an item
with many reviews with an average of 4.5 stars will rate as higher than
an item with a single 5 star review. This makes sense, as the item with
more reviews is a more trustworthy rating. This also seems to be working
correctly for me (again, screenshot attached).
If you are still seeing this issue, could you please attach a
screenshot? And if it is fixed for you now, please let us know that as
well, and we can close this bug.
Many thanks for your help!

Title:
Sort "By Name" and "By Top-Rated" does not sorts properly
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When sort "By Name" is selected, it does not do so alphabetically.
(E.g. the first one is Licq, the second one Kopete.)
When sort "By Top-Rated" is selected, it does not do so according to
the actual ratings. (E.g. the first one has 213 stars, the second 16,
the third 17 and the fourth 28...)
