Title:
'Additional Drivers' should request reboot after removing nvidia
Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
TEST CASE:
Open 'Additional Drivers', install current nvidia.
Prompted to reboot.
(It's not possible to e.g. uninstall it without rebooting first, suggesting
to the user that rebooting is important)
Logout menu also shows "Restart to complete update".
Reboot.
Start 'Additional Drivers', remove nvidia driver.
Logout menu again shows "Restart to complete update".
However, 'Additional Drivers' does not tell the user to reboot, which is what
I would expect.
I wouldn't expect the user to look in the logout menu to discover that the
machine should be rebooted.
Whether the machine really needs to be reboot could be debated, but if
the installation of a particular driver suggests it, it seems that the
uninstallation of the same driver should be consistent.
