Thank you for your bug report, is that still an issue? Could you run
that command "dpkg -l | grep gnome-settings-daemon" and add it to the
bug?

Title:
sound notifications use upstream style instead of notify-osd
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
The Volume Overlay on my Laptop has a very blurry icon instead of a
monochrome one and on my other computer (PC, not Laptop) which was an
upgrade from 11.10 it is still in the upper right corner on 12.04. I
dont know it this is supposed to be like that or if i need to reset
something.
Because of Unity 5.8 Upgrade i allready did "unity --reset" multiple
times but the volume overlay remains different on my machines.
reproduce:
1) install 11.10 on one computer and upgrade it to Ubuntu 12.04
2) install 12.04 on another computer
3) get the most recent updates
4) use the "Volume" Keys on your keyboard on both computers to see the volume
overlay. It should be differ depending on which computer you use.
