  Can't attach files from a restricted Windows share

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  When using drag & drop to add attachments to an email, they appear
  right in the message compose windows, in the top-right corner.

  However when sending the email, this error appears for each
  attachment:

  Sending of message failed.
  There was an error attaching smb://server/share/directory/document.odt. 
Please check if you have access to the file.

  Workaround: copy the files to the desktop or to any other local
  directory, drag & drop into compose window, send.
