that's "fixed" in precise, the launcher is always on by default and the
other option is always hidden, so there is no case left leading to the
issue described there

Title:
  FEATURE REQUEST: snap to dock

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: unity

Windows snap to the bottom, left, and right of the workspace. They
snap to the panel (not the drag-up-to-maximize bit, but the window-
stops-here bit). Oftentimes, I want to move a window as far left as I
can /without hiding the dock/. Can we allow snapping to the dock just
like we allow snapping to the left-hand side of the workspace? It
just needs to be snapping like windows are snapped to the side, i.e.
you can move it past the snap point, but it will rest there.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm running stock Unity (3.8.12-0ubuntu1)
  that came with Natty.
