This is readily reproducible in a clean VM or new user account. Attached is a simple mbox with vcard attachment. Steps to reproduce 1. install and start evolution 2. Import the attached mbox via File/Import into 'On this computer/Inbox' 3. Open/preview the imported message 4. Click 'Save in addressbook' and save to the Personal addressbook. 5. Open 'Contacts' and verify it was imported 6. Go back to 'Mail' and click 'Save in addressbook' and save to the Personal addressbook. This time evolution will crash. Evolution 3.2.3-0ubuntu6 on Ubuntu 12.04.
