  loudspeaker symbol is gone

Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  after some reboots the loudspeaker symbol in the menu bar is gone.
  Sound still works but it can not be adjusted anymore.

  This is not a beta version, this is not even an alpah version !!!!
