Title:
graphics proprietary driver will not activate correctly

Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I have a pair Gigabyte radeon HD4850 that are cross fired.
Upon first boot of the ubuntu 9.04 the system prompts me to activate the
proprietary drivers for my graphics.
When I press the "Activate" button I get a progress bar that remains empty
until a message comes up that it didn't work and that I should report the
problem...(sorry I could not memorize the exact phrase).

After rebooting the computer does not start the GUI and instead all I
get are white characters on black screen asking for my user name and
password... Being a complete rookie as I am, I had to reinstall ubuntu
9.04 to get my GUI back...

I Just thought I should let you know about it, please en light me
  anyway possible,

  Thank you
