Title:
Crash / freeze using NVidia driver on 2.66GHz iMac
Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04
On a 2.66GHz 24" iMac, on a fresh 9.04 install with the "NVIDIA
accelerated graphics driver (version 180)" installed via jockey, I am
having significant issues with the system completely freezing up
during particular activities involving video. I am filing the bug
under jockey although it's really a bug with the driver and I'm hoping
this floats upstream (sorry, Jockey maintainer!).
I have found two reliable methods of reproducing the bug:
Using Miro:
1. Get a 24" 2.66GHz iMac.
2. Install Miro 2.0.4-0pcf1 using the instructions on their site.
3. Start playing a video
4. Press Ctrl-F to switch to full-screen mode
Using Eclipse:
1. Install the Eclipse Platform
2. Run it
3. The crash will occur after the initial splash
There are also crashes for many other reasons, notably when resizing
windows, especially Firefox.
I am using Compiz and compizconfig-settings-manager, and I will attach
the configs that I am using in case they matter.
Here is my output from 'lspci -v' with respect to the video card:

If there is anything else I can do to help, I'll be happy to do so.
