Thank you for your bug report, from what version did you upgrade? Did
you have custom datas in those dirs? It's weird that an upgrade would

Title:
ubuntu update to 12.04 LTS wipes ~/.local data
Status in “gedit” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
The system invited me to update to the new release 12.04 LTS
After the install, the following directories (used by gedit 3.4.1) were
missing
~/.local/share/gtksourceview-3.0/language-specs
~/.local/share/mime/packages
These directories contain information for the markup of user-defined
languages and their mime types.
