Public bug reported:

After install Ubuntu (also tried kubuntu), my ethernet card does not work. I
searched and find this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1952883&highlight=ip100a

I did remove network-manager, did "dhclient eth0" and connected to
network. After that, I installed wicd. Now I can use my eth card. Does
Ubuntu not support old eth cards ?

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
