I am also suffering from this, since the latest update. I have a "internal" encypted drive whch is now not recognised and I can only mount it by issueing the cryptsetup and mount command myself, Previously it would appear in "places" and then I could click on it to mount it (and put in the key).
I am using Cinnamon 1.4 as the desktop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988910 Title: Problem to mount external drive in Ubuntu 11.10 Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 and now I cannot mount any external 80 GB HDD and USB drive. When I connect a drive, it is visible in Files under devices heading but when I want to open it, I get an message saying "Unable to mount HARD DISK. No authorisation". I tried to find a way to solve it but I could not find any. I also want to add that I am not an expert- so can you give me a guidance on how I can solve this problem. I need it urgently as I have to access my files inside my HDD and the USB.
