Status in “gnome-screensaver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 I upgraded to 12.04 it seems that I have no control over screen timeouts (which are blank). Also, on occasion and overnight the system seems to lock with a frozen desktop requiring a reboot. I have turned off everything I could think of (See below) and the problems presist. I have to continually move my mouse or strike a key to resume a video (MLBTV for example). Am I missing something elementary since I find this most annoying. Screensaver Preferences (XScreensaver 5.15, ...) Mode: Disable Screen Saver Power management box is not checked. Quick Power-off in Blank Only Mode is not checked. SYSTEM SETTINGS Brightness and Lock Turn scrren off when inactive for "Never" Lock OFF Power Management not checked. Power Suspend when inactive for "Don't Suspend".
