That's not a bug in NetworkManager though, might be acpi/hotkeys
related. Since there's a freeze at cause, reassign to 'linux' for the
driver to be looked at.

Title:
  Wifi button doesn't work

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: glib-networking

  Ubuntu 11.04
  Network Manager 0.8.4
  Broadcomm STA wireless driver 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu3
  Laptop HP DV6-2190US

I have an HP DV6-2190US laptop. At the top just above the key board
is a mute button, a volume control, and a wifi button. The mute
button turns red when muted and white when not. The wifi button is
red when wifi is off and blue when wifi is on.

Currently the wifi is red, but network connections indicator on the
desktop shows I have a good wifi connection. If I touch the wifi
button, the PC appears to either freeze or ignore the keyboard and
mouse so I have to cold boot it to get control back. On previous
Ubuntu's , started with v9.0 on this laptop, the wifi button did
operate correctly. Other than that, networking appears to work great
  on this model.

I will be happy to provide you with any other information you need.

  Thank you!
