I got the same problem on an Ubuntu 12.04 64bit installation. Running the fresh installation of libreoffice I was not able to see any menu entry (neither settings nor menus), after purge and reinstall the LO installation, I'm able to see some entries but the UI is still unusable.
I did try using both: unity and gnome-shell getting the same problem. I got another machine running precise pangolin 32bit installation where I'm not getting any problem. Both the installation 64 and 32 bit are fresh no upgrade from previous release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991167 Title: No text in settings or options menus Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When I open any of the settings or options windows, there's no text in the options menus. This affects ALL settings dialogs. I can't change anything or work with any documents because of this. To fix, I purged all LO files, then reinstalled from Software Center. I thought the issue might be related to the installation of LO in the /opt/ directory before the upgrade... that that installation might be conflicting with the new one. Nothing fixed. 2 screenshots attached. Anyone else having this major issue?
